There is always a guaranteed layout. It will fulfill all the requirements, mentioned above, at the same time. It is calculated before the game begins.

When you start new game, part of the pre-calculated layout is revealed to you. Your mission is to find out the complete layout.

#Deeper view

This version of Sudoku contains several game / layout types :

- Single-cell ( simulates Tv Games )
- Row, Column and Block levels
- BlockRow and ColumnRow levels
- Hidden levels ( simulates printed games )

The time, that the results of your efforts are revealed, is the differentiating thing for these layout types.

#Feel the difference

In Single cell modes / levels results are shown after each click.

In Row, Col and Block modes correct placements are shown after Row, Col or Block is filled with required numbers.

In BlockRow and BlockCol modes you'll have to find correct entries to all Cols or Rows within a block of rows / cols.

In the Hidden levels you are forced to find out the correct solution without any help . . . Allll by yourself.

#Right or Wrong

Another level-differentiating thing is the pre-calculated layout.

Sometimes you are forced to find out pre-calculated layout, and your creative workouts are always ignored. Whether they are right or wrong.

Literal description of the rules for the current level is shown before the game begins. During the game, you can review the rules from the About box.

#Your Mission

There are several games / layout sets from which you can choose.

Each game consists of the various number of the individual levels.

Your mission is to find solutions for all the levels in the game.

#Walk or Run

All the games you play are recorded into statistics dataBase.

Not the best, not the worst, but all.

In order to be in the top, you must find out the solution as fast as you can. Another way to get your name in to the hall of fame, is to reduce the amount of the clicks you use, when you play.

In other words. Your games are valuated and recorded to the archives ( for the non-born generations ) by the times and the click counts, you have used.

#Memos

Memos are in the game. Just for you. With Memos you can pre-plan difficult layouts without huge losses ( in the click counts ). Just like you do, when you try resolve printed Sudokus.

#Using Memos

Use of the memos is easy. After selecting the number, right-click an empty cell -> The number is set ( and shown ) as a memo. Each cell has nine slots for the memo numbers.

Manually maintained cell memos are available in every level. Availability of the Row and Col memos varies. Variable existence can also be detected for the automatically calculated / maintained memos.

#Advanced Memos

When you set the game in to the Plan Mode, memos act as a gateway to the final placement.

In plan mode you place all number initially into the memo field. After you left click the number ( in the memo field ), it is placed into the cell as a final entry.

#Plan mode mouse interface

- left click adds memo entry and shifts memo to the entry.
- right click removes the entry / memo entry.

? Ctrl+MB and Shift+MB acts as in common mode.
? SwapMouse changes Left and Right click buttons.
? Invert shift swaps behavior of the shift key.

#Advanced Mouse

Ctrl + MouseClick : Remove entry or Memo entry
Shift + MouseClick : Set underlying number as the current number

SwapMouse Setting : Use right click to place entry and left click to set a memo field.
WheelScroll : Change direction of the wheel based number selection.
Invert Shift : Inverts shift key function.

#Quaranteed quality for the level generation

Almost all of the new game levels are generated randomly by the program.

This version of the Sudoku has advanced layout calculation routines.
Random calculations and also the difficulty of each level are controlled by seven, level based, parameters.

These calculations and parameters ensures, that levels, that were ment to be easy, are easy also then, when you try to resolve them.

#OOOOPS, where are Undo and Redo buttons

Undo and Redo buttons can be found from the left-corner of the status bar.

Sudoku has a fully utilized, file based, Undo and redo functions. In other words. And only in theory. It is possible to rollback Sudoku gameBase to the level it was, when you first installed the game.

In practice. The availability of these functions is controlled by the level-based setting. In almost every level, use of the Undo / Redo functions is limited. Undo/Redo does not belong to gaming.

#Hmmmm, strange Extra at the bottom

Boards can get stuck from two reasons.

Besides your personal problems, the boards with forced layout can end into a deadlock : You have 4 or more free cells, with more than one possible solutions. Extra cell's primary function is to reveal one cell from the deadlocked board at the end of the game.

Extra-button : Reveals correct value of the randomly selected cell.

#Single, uh ... music related ?

Single button was made for testing the game. It simulated the way Sudoku is played. It searches cells with only one possible number, and opens them.

In game it reads contents from memo cells, if one number in memo fits the board and predefined layout, the cell is opened.

Maximum number or the opened cells is limited to 5. You cannot set the number higher from game settings.

Single-button : Opens cells, that have only one memo-number set.

#Music Box

When you click the DJ button, you'll see the Music Box. Music Box plays the background music for the game. If the music harasses you, Click the the RedRing-button in the topleft corner of the MusicBox.

MusicBox has a hierarchial playlist-system and simple play-controls. It has also an advanced file search screen. With FileSearch you can easily add music files from your computer to the playlists. You can also edit play lists as a simple text file.

MusicBox uses Windows MMC-interface. This means, that you can play all types of sound files stored on your hard disks : If you can listen the file with Windows Media Player, you can listen it with the Music Box.

#Missing Fonts or Extra Fonts found ?

Sudoku uses following rare / unique fonts : Alibi, LCD

If your computer is not equipped with these fonts, Sudoku will temporarily install these fonts to your computer. After Sudoku is opened, you'll see these temp-fonts in all Font selection boxes.

These temporary -installations are removed, when you close the game. After closing the program these fonts disappear from the system and selections after you quit Sudoku.

Ttf and Fot-Files needed for the permanent installation can be found from the Sudoku's Resource sub folder.
